How do you know if your employer has workers’ compensation coverage? Well, your employer is required to have workers’ compensation coverage if they have five or more employees, or if that employment is involved in the construction industry, which is very widely defined. However, a lot of times your employer may be required to have workers’ comp coverage, and they actually don’t.

In that situation, to find that out, you’re gonna need to contact an attorney. Your attorney can find out through state databases and other means, and your attorney can file a claim to force your employer, even if they don’t have workers’ compensation coverage, to pay you the benefits you’re entitled to.

If you’ve run into this situation and your employer has not told you whether or not they have workers’ compensation coverage, you can call me. I’m Chris Beavers at Banks & Jones. You can reach me at 865-546-2141 or at banksjones.com.
