Gavin Cox was born and raised in Nashville TN, where he graduated as Salutatorian of his class from White House Heritage High School in 2015. During high school, he was captain of his soccer team and an avid cross-country runner. After high school, Gavin went on to attend college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he received a double major in political science and philosophy and graduated in 2019. He spent much of his time in college participating in Greek Life, being a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and fundraising for the fraternity’s philanthropy, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF), and he also worked throughout college as a server in Market Square.

With the intent of putting both his political science and philosophy majors to good use, Gavin attended Law School at Lincoln Memorial Duncan School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude in 2022. While in Law School, Gavin competed as an oral advocate for LMU’s Moot Court Organization, completed internships at both the Knox County and Anderson County Public Defenders Offices, and returned to the Knox County Public Defender’s Office as a clerk for his final semester of law school.

At Banks & Jones, Gavin fights passionately for those clients who have been injured by the negligence of another, among other general civil practice issues, as well as helping folks to prepare for the future by writing wills for those clients. Gavin assists Banks & Jones in the firm’s other areas of practice, as well.

When he is not working on bringing about justice, Gavin spends his time playing guitar, playing soccer, and spending time with his family, which includes his two beautiful dogs. When he is not actually playing the sport, Gavin is a follower of the English Premiere League and a supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
